The third block for the needlepoint Painted Stitches Sampler is the Byzantine Stitch. There are many variations of the Byzantine Stitch. I chose the variation that looks most like steps. Whenever I learn a new stitch I always start at the longest point of the stitch area, then I’m not worrying about compensating the stitch while trying to learn it. Once again I stitched the green first then filled in the second step with the purple.
