Needlepoint Stitch Tangle continued...
I decided to do way first Needlepoint Stitch Tangle in various shades of turquoise. I looked in my stash boxes and the turquoise had the greatest shades of color and diverse threads. I rarely do anything in a monochromatic palette and I wanted to try something new.
I stitched painted the outline I drew with the paint pen, in blue to define each area.
Next I filled in each area with alternating light turquoise and dark turquoise.
Then I painted needlepoint decorative stitches in each defined area. I tried to pair large stitches with large areas and vice versa.
Here is my painted Stitch Tangle!
These are the decorative stitches I picked for each area:
1 Slanted Gobelin Stitch diagram
2 Diagonal Weaving Stitch diagram
3 Mosaic Stripe Stitch diagram
5 Reverse Scotch Stitch diagram
9 Cashmere Checker Stitch diagram
11 Framed Mosaic Stitch diagram
I'm thrilled with my first Needlepoint Stitch Tangle. And can't wait to see it develop with threads. That's the good news! The bad news is I've added something to my needlepoint rotation. I'll keep you posted!
Gosh this looks good; I'm looking forward to watching those fillings appear!! And one half of me is trying to convince the other half that of course I need to start something new :) :)
