I love to see my designs stitched. It is such a treat to see them come alive with threads and stitches. Suzy Mast Lee, a needlepoint friend from the needlepoint group on Facebook, has taken “changing up the canvas” to new heights!
Suzy stitches at a great shop in Miami, FL, Absolutely Needlepoint (http://www.absolutelyneedlepoint.com) A group, at the shop, have been working with owner, Holly, on Stitch of the Week. Holly gives them a stitch and then each stitcher picks out their own colors and threads to use on the stitch. What a great idea!
What really impresses me the most about this crab canvas is Suzy is using the general colors and layout of the crab, but she is not following the design verbatim!

Here is Suzy’s interpretation using decorative needlepoint stitches and a fabulous array of threads:

Watching this canvas come alive is a huge inspiration! It’s helped me think outside the box! I hope it gives you, as it has me, the courage to try something new, change a color or pattern. Most of all make each of your needlepoint canvases your own! I’d love to see any of your ideas for “Making Needlepoint Your Own!”
