I completed Santa Stitches 3 Rice Stitch. Now I have a trio of Santas!
Here is the thread pull.
Here is step one and two completed.
The final step was the beard. I used long diagonal stitches with Arctic Rays.
Now, I’m working on Santa Stitches 4 Staircase Stitch! I’ll keep you posted!

Just got some great information, Whitney!
from: Jill Mashburn Elia You just stitch from one point to the next in one long stitch. If you are reading it sometimes they are also called Gobelin stitches. They can be random as in long and short in beards, grass, animal fur, etc.
from: Don Lynch Barb, I just looked at your picture, and I would call what you did diagonal satin. I tend to agree with Jill that calling it random might scare a few people, but in this case you would be referring to the length, which shouldn't be too frightening.
from: Ellen Briggs Daniels Barbara, here is a link to a video demonstrating long/short stitch.
