Block 4 – Byzantine Stitch Start stitching on the upper left of Block 4, three threads down. Then follow diagram. Stitches are over three diagonal mesh threads. Fill in with shorter stitches where necessary.

I just started on this project and am on the 4th or byzantine stitch with which I am having difficulties. I believe I know how to do the stitch but it does not seem to be coming out correctly on my canvas. I must not be following your directions correctly somewhere. Maybe it is the Block with which I am to begin with. I take it there is a particular Block on the canvas I am to start this stitch with, is that correct? Do I begin all the other blocks with the bzyantine stitch after that directly in the corner or three down and three over. I do not seem to know what to do with the spaces I have left over at the beginning of the block when I begin 3 over and 3 down which I feel I am doing correctly.
