The fourth block for the needlepoint Painted Stitches Sampler is the Mosaic Stripe Stitch. This stitch is a combination of diagonal tent stitches and diagonal mosaic stitches that share the small stitch. I painted and stitched the first step of the Mosaic Stripe Stitch in turquoise. I would stitch all the turquoise stripes first then fill in with the second step light orange mosaic stitches.
I use this often, but insert beads into the spaces instead of "tent" stitches - it's very very effective on patches on my "crazy quilt" things, and provides a directional pattern when I need it.
